Kadel works with coffee-stained paper, micron .005 pens, ink, pencil, and blades to meticulously render, cut, and rearrange intricate drawings and patterns that have garnered the attention of musical group The Bird & The Bee, Brushfire Records, The New Yorker, LA Times Magazine, and many other publications and collaborators. Kadel has exhibited worldwide at Merry Karnowky in Los Angeles, Fuse Gallery in New York, MOHS in Copenhagen, Richard Heller Gallery in Santa Monica, and Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles. She was featured alongside Ed Ruscha and Ed Templeton in “Milk & Honey: Contemporary Art in California”, a collection of work by Californian artists. Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Mel Kadel now lives and works in Los Angeles.
