Genieve Figgis’ first solo exhibition with Almine Rech (London) opens November 21, 2015. Earlier this year, Figgis debuted two new paintings in the Almine Rech booth at Art Brussels. Recent solo exhibition venues include Half Gallery (New York), Harper’s Books (East Hampton), Transition Gallery (London), and Talbot Gallery (Dublin). In 2014 Fulton Ryder published her first artist book, Making Love with the Devil. Artforum has described her work as “replete with lascivious, decadent content” and included her solo show at Half Gallery in their ‘Best of 2014’ December issue. GQ Magazine compared her paintings to those of Francis Bacon. Genieve Figgis received her master’s degree in 2012 from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, where she lives and works.
