John McAllister (b. 1973, Slidell, Louisiana) mounted his sixth solo exhibition with James Fuentes on November 13, 2015. Selected solo exhibition venues include a forthcoming show at Almine Rech Gallery (Brussels), Richard Telles (Los Angeles), Hagiwara Projects (Tokyo), Carl Freedman (London), Shane Campbell (Chicago), and Ribordy Contemporary (Geneva). His work has been featured in group presentations at Almine Rech (Paris), Zach Feuer (New York), Le Consortium (Paris), Mary Mary (Glasgow), ZieherSmith (New York), and Richard Telles (Los Angeles). His work is included in both the Rubell Family Collection (Miami) and the collection of the Hammer Museum (Los Angeles). McAllister’s work has been heralded by The New York Times as “smart, wryly elegant new paintings which continue to negotiate a path between past and present, painting and photography, decoration and documentation, and modernism and postmodernism.” McAllister holds an MFA from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He currently lives and works in Northampton, Massachusetts.
