Dasha Shishkin’s mesmerizing dreamscapes have been compared to the likes of Goya, Egon Schiele and Henry Darger in a recent issue of Vogue magazine. Represented by Zach Feuer Gallery, the 33-year-old Moscow native is clearly a standout emerging talent in the New York art world this season. You might say that drawing is her third language after English and Russian. Â Sexy, funny and colorfully nuanced, her subject matter engages epic themes of nature vs. nurture, cultural identity and subconscious exploration.
