Dasha Shishkin’s mesmerizing dreamscapes have been compared to the likes of Goya, Egon Schiele and Henry Darger in a recent issue of Vogue magazine. Represented by Zach Feuer Gallery, the 33-year-old Moscow native is clearly a standout emerging talent in the New York art world this season. You might say that drawing is her third language after English and Russian. Sexy, funny and colorfully nuanced, her subject matter engages epic themes of nature vs. nurture, cultural identity and subconscious exploration.
